space_cowboy
I can’t seem to find a final answer on this; who was the lead singer of Rare Earth when Big Brother was recorded? Thanks
Boxx
I may be wrong, but I think the lead singer at the time was Peter Rivera (aka Peter Hoorelbebke).
Rich_Guy
Looks like it was Peter Rivera a.k.a. Peter Hoorelbeke http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rare_Earth_(band) I had an old live album of theirs that was great, it's long gone now. I don't remember the album name but I remember at one point the band made an announcement that the people in the water needed to get out of the water because they didn't want anyone to be fried because there was a lot of electrical cables from the concert near the water. space_cowboy
Good deal, I thought Peter Rivera may have been the singer but some of the searches were funny. Thanks, Mark
colterphoto1
The Best of Rare Earth - Motown Master Series double CD set has most of the major tracks of their career in it's 36 songs. 31453-0488-2 I do remember that live LP, the cover looked like an army knapsack, great tunes. Big Brother recorded 11/4/71 and reached #19 on pop charts and #40 on R&B charts. It's also on the Greatest Hits and Rare Classics CD. flatgrass
Great album. Been carrying it around for what, 35 years?
colterphoto1
Great album. Being carry it around for what, 35 years? Yep, that's the one mang. A buddy had this LP set and an 8-track recorder (too many KaChunks though) and we listened to this on the way to school a lot. Great long live versions that really kicked!
