FireWave Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Recently SVS has been working updating their PB13 ultra. Well it just got released and the updated sub has some benefits as well as some setbacks, so ill list them. The first change is the amp, the old amp was a Bach 650W with tons of knobs for tuning the sub. The New model has an 1000W amp made by Formosa Audiomate (sledgehammer) and is completely digital with only one knob. The second change is the finish, they sold textured black, natural oak, rosenut (imported), Cherry, and piano gloss black. They have discontinued the textured black and replaced it with stained black oak. The third change is the price, everything is now 100 to 200 more expensive. The good: More power and less cluttered knobs. Different finishes, and a digital amp. The bad: Some people still prefer the analog knobs for adjusting, can be frustrating navigating menus. Overall its a good move having more power, but then again i did like all those knobs and switches. Here is the website: http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-pb13ultra.cfm#amp Quote
wuzzzer Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 The Ultra series subs from SVS really pack a punch. Quote

TxEvo8 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I have the older version of the PB and I believe that it has a BASH 750W amp.. Quote
Max2 Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I have an SVS thats about 6 or 7 years old. I think it is a PB-2 plus or something which has 2, 12" subs. I recently noticed that SVS quit offering their dual driver subs. Anyone know why they stopped? Quote
