joshnich
Just about every popular artist releases a Christmas CD and most suck big time. I end up listening to my old favorites Vince Guaraldi, Nat King Cole, Leo Kotke, and the Beach Boys tend to get a fair bit of play. We this year Shelby Lynn released a Christmas CD that is getting a lot of play. Not overly sappy or schmaltzy. Great Song, great production. Give it a whirl of your looking for something new! AnalogWave
It's not Christmas until I see A Charlie Brown Christmas. There is no school like the Old School. OK, Prep and Landing kicks tail too... but it doesn't have Vince.
Wrinkles
Josh, The Leo Kottke album you mentioned, was it a Leo Kottke Christmas Album or a Kottke favorite of yours you like play at Christmas? I have alot of Kottke albums and never ran across a Christmas Album. Thanks, Wrinkles
crd97086
It truly doesn't seem like Christmas until I see Charlie Brown's special. I have been watching that since it came out when I was 7. And Guaraldi is so emblazened in my mind that I associate it with Christmas as much as all the songs written specifically for Christmas. RT FAN
Thanks for the heads up. Shelby Lynn has a good voice. I have never come a cross a Kottke Christmas cd, perhaps you are thinking of John Fahey's Christmas disc? He used to play with Leo in the old days. Mighty Favog
When Windham Hill Records was still in business, I bought every volume of Winter's Solstice (1 thru 6 but my favorite is Vol. 4) and had a good feeling after playing each one at random. If you like mellow and relaxing music, this is the one for me.
joshnich
You are all correct. I was thinking John Fahey and said Leo Kottke! .
