128 bitrate vs.256 vs.326

Well most people consider MP3's with bitrates of 128 to be CD quality , yet many songs are still (some at Napster) are at higher bitrates.

Some might say there is a difference and most argue that your ear wont distinguish a difference for bitrates higher than 128.

What do YOU ThinkTextc>Textc>

I never noticed a difference until I got the pros... Now I have napster filter anything below 192, and I rip CD's at 256.

128 bit is NOT cd quality - you always lose quality when compressing, even at 320. Its a question of when the loss is no longer noticable.

256 mp3's are cd quality.

128's were generally used because they provided sufficient quality for lesser computer speakers, and they were easier to download

320 mp3's are kind of an enigma for me. Some people I know have somehow turned 256 mp3's into 320 by using sound editing software, and cleaning up any distortions.
