Have You Heard About The Mini-DSP?

I just saw this on another website - 2x4 DSP programmable via PC or MAC, RCA connections, 5-24V power (or USB), crossover, graphic EQ, parametric EQ, delays to 7.6 ms. Should be fine for bi-amping. Oh yeah, just $125.

Came across a post, believe in Audio Asylum or diyaudio, with someone using them to do speaker testing. Very tempting. Looks like you can do up to four way with any crossover/eq setup you'd like. People are looking for inexpensive alternatives to a DCX2496.

If anyone breaks down and purchases them, please post the results.

Don't forget to add in the cost of a power supply and the software.

I would suggest the B version and 24V.

(latency) You could expect that by enabling LR filter (4th order) you would get up
to 2.5ms or so once again from ADC to DAC.

This means you could make a simple low-pass with a couple of opamps for the Klipschorn woofer section and use one board for a stereo three-way solution. Subtract the latency from the delay required for the mids and highs (woofer needs no delay).

Has anybody seen anything that says what processor they're using? From context it looks like a DSP563xx, but nothing in the data sheet or manual says so explicitly.

Now if it just had digital I/O ...
