mix and match external amps

I would like to know if its ok to mix and match external amps . I have a B&K reference 200.2 (200watts each channel x2)which I m using for my L/R RF 82 . I would like to know if I add a Emotiva upa 1 monoblock (1channel 200 watts) for my center channel RC 64 if this would be a bad idea.

Probably wouldn't be too huge of a deal but I'd be more inclined to sell your B&K and buy one of their 3 channel amps.

Agreed, I could see mixing a three channel for the front and a two channel for the rear, but I would think that it would be a good idea to have the front soundstage all driven off of the same type of amp.

Wuzzer, no offense but his B&K Reference 200.2 is a great amp. Warm side of neutral with plenty down low and very musical. If anything I would suggest getting another B&K amp or maybe even a Marantz monoblock. Very similar sound signatures IMO.

Don't be put off by the power difference, these little monoblocks(MA-500) pack a punch. If you don't like it or you find something else you want better, it will sell with no problem.

Here is a very nice 3-channel B&K for a good price.
