DVD Player

I am looking for a pretty good DVD player and had a few questions. I have a HDTV so I know I need to get progressive scan and DTS, but what else?

For the people that have heard DVD Audio, is there a big difference?

My limit is $250, so any recommendations?

Thanks again everyone,

Tony

$250 or less for a progressive DVD player....I'm afraid that you won't be able to find a good player for that. Since you spent the money to get a HDTV, spend the money to get a good player. Alot of people recommend the Panasonic RP-91, it has a great picture and loads of tweeks. I can't personally comment on the quality since i don't have one. Another is a Toshiba, but i don't remember the exact model, possible 4800 or something like that. Both can be found around $400 - $600.

Schmidty,

I hope you checked to determine if the manufacturer's warranty will be applicable. Many don't warranty items if not bought from an authorized dealer. They consider these buys as third party purchases. However, most reliable sellers will act as your warranty agent. Your warranty then exists between your seller and you, not the original manufacturer. Just food for thought and verification.

Enjoy your player.

Thanks for your concern ShapeShifter, I was aware of that problem. The person I bought it from has 1009 positive and NO negative feedback.

Also I bought my JVC receiver on EBay and when I got it was not working so I brought it to a JVC repair center and they fixed it for free with a print-up of the EBay description as a receipt.

Thanks,

Tony
