htxpert
are you not using KTP-250,200,or KTP 100 as side/rear surrounds? I have installed these in commercial applications and they have the traditional awesome heritage sound I also found them easy to mount and the look very nice (not Heritage nice) but nice just the same. After looking at the Octave Polars and dipersion patterns I think that these would be a no brainer if decor is not a problem Your Thoughts Please
jdm56
I currently use my wife's old pair of Infinity Studio Monitors for surround with my k-horns. They do fairly well, but sure don't look like much. I am somewhat undecided about what to upgrade to when the time comes; Heresy II's or RS-7's are what I have been considering. I'm not familiar with the ones you mentioned. I'll look them up in the archives. Thanks for the suggestion. ------------------ JDM
ShapeShifter
They were designed for commercial use as cinema/theater surround speakers. The 250 is a three way sys & is well suited for digital sound reproduction, it uses Tactrix. The later two are two-way THX certified w/12" & 8" woofers respectively, and are down-firing. I use Heritage for HT because I really like the sound. Been addicted to the Klipsch horn sound since the early seventies. Q-Man
Ray, Some time ago I gave using the Ktp 250 some serious thought. It's advantage of wall placement and 102 db sensitivity will help it match the Klipschorn and LaScals efficiency. I ruled it out for these reasons. I want all my speaker to be the same, so when the sound is passed around the room I won't be hearing any differences in the speakers themselfs. I want full range speakes everywhere. I want bass coming from bass horns. I think the KTP 250 would be a good choice for some. I would use it before using a Heresy or any of Klipsch's other surrounds. Frzninvt
I use the heritage series for dynamics and clarity, I enjoy the realism they can reproduce especially with the kind of headroom I have with all separate amplifiers. Their handsome looks also play an important role, I wanted to keep the system matched as closely as I could as well. I can turn the volume level to the point where it sounds as if you a literally there. ------------------ Living Room Sony KP-43T70 43" Television Denon AVR 3300 A/V Receiver (ALF/ARF)LWE-I's w/motion feedback DBX BX-3MkII Power Amplifier (400W X 1)(KV-4 Center) DBX BX-1 Power Amplifier (400W X 2)(Belle's - Oak Clear/Cane) DBX BX-3MkII Power Amplifier (200W X 4)(RR/ARR/LR/ALR) (Heresy II's (Walnut/Cane) & Infinity SM82 (Walnut) Klipsch KSW-15 Powered Subwoofer (2) Nakamichi DVD-10 DVD/LCD/CD Player DBX DX-5 CD Player w/DAIR Pioneer CT-S88R Programmable Auto-Reverse Cassette Deck Technics SL-DL5 DD Linear Tracking Turntable JVC HR-S7500U SVHS Video Cassette Recorder RCA DRD-485RG Digital Satellite Receiver VC3 Deluxe Video Clarifier DBX 400XG Program Route Selector DBX 120X-DS Subharmonic Synthesizer/Electronic Crossover DBX 3BX-DS 3-Band Dynamic Range Controller DBX 14/10 14-Band Computerized Equalizer/RTA Analyzer/SPL Meter Panamax 1000+ Surge Protector/Line Conditioner Sega Dreamcast w/3 Controllers & VMU's/S-Video Output Bedroom Yamaha RX-900U Receiver Panasonic DVD-A120U DVD/CD Player Sony SLV-740HF Hi-Fi VCR BBE Audio Recovery System A/D/S L300E Mini Speakers (Eggshell)(LF/RF) JBL T545's (Rear) GE 20" Television
j-malotky
IMHO I think Klipsch is really missing the boat on how they market themselves in the HT market. They should be marketing the re-released classic Heritage line as a real high end HT option. Or include some of there smaller pro line as a home HT High end solution. I think it would sell. boa12
right on J-. they should point out that HT material contains a lot of music too (not to mention concert & music dvd). with an all heritage HT you have the best for both worlds. sound is sound. music is music. 'cept for the magnetic shielding. maybe they should put out shielded heritage. ------------------ My Home Systems Page
