tromprof
I am being greatly tempted by a used Sophia Electric Baby integrated amp that I would use with my La Scala speakers. I have read some good reviews about this amp, but does anyone here have any experience with this?
Guest " "
frequency response is very good. signal to noise ratio is very good. the power is acceptable for LaScala's. sound of course is awesome. Wouldn't expect to throw a party with it.
captmobley
I have one I used in my garage system with Heresy II's but upgraded to a Melody SP3 (38 watts)-it's a great little amp and I would part with it if you are interested. For the price point it would be hard to beat. Email me if you want to discuss further.
tromprof
Thanks for the replies but it looks like my plans have been put off for a while anyway. Last night the 10 years old electric range died, so instead of a toy for me it looks like I am off to Sears. []
bkrop
What died with the range? Major appliances are repairable, often easily by you, for the price of a part.... Unless SWMBO wants a new range....

Unless SWMBO wants a new range.... It is the computer. This is the second time it has crapped out and at $200 for the part I am not going to to it again. Not one of Sears/Whirlpools best designs, it regularly lost its mind and became one of those things that cannot be left on without someone around to keep a close eye on it. My favorite was the time it decided to go into cleaning mode and lock the door in the middle of baking a piece of fish. It took a few minutes to realize what was happening; talk about blackened fish! tinpan
That's too bad. If you ever get to a buying position again, I have one of these amps and they are great. I was shocked at how nice they made my KG4's sound
