DIY is the answer.

I'll agree with that to, but when you take your time into account and don't have a lot of it, the total price is really the materials and your time, based on your skill level. On the SPUD If I were looking to build one for someone off the street, (AND I"M NOT), I wouldn't build somehting like it for under $1,200 and that wouldn't include an amp but with $350-$400 in real material costs including the drivers, if you have the time and patience, you'll be way ahead of the game.
