Loudogp250
I just picked up a pair in good shape at a wonderful price. What crites parts should I get. Also, anyone know where I can get some grills?
mustang guy
Possibly nothing. Have you been listening to them? Are there any problems? One thing many people do is utilize a sub with Heresy's. I don't use a a sub with mine. They are simply hooked up to a tube receiver, and I like them fine that way. I put in a crossover (recap) for the E2 networks in them. IMO, you should listen to them and enjoy them before thinking they need improved. They are very good sounding speakers.
Loudogp250
Mustang guy, They sound great. I added titanium diaphragms to my KG 5.5 and it was a big improvement. These Heresy don't seem like they need it. I will order the slant risers.
Groomlakearea51
The caps are usually about all that most need. You can remove the backs, clean all driver and crossover connections and re-tighten. And put a strip of speaker gasket tape on the rear panel braces (leave no gaps...) to make sure the cabinet is sealed. Generally that will improve the bass. Over the years they "leak" and they are not supposed to do that.... Other things (in descending order of cheap but effective) unscrew the woofers and rotate them 180 degrees. Over the years, the basket frame sags from gravity. replace the gasket between the K-55 driver and the horn. It's located in the threaded area and it's probably dried out. consider replacing the K-77 tweeters with CT-125's. Drop in, and they are very good. consider replacing the K-22 woofers with the K-28's (Heresy-III types). Much better bass response. Or the CW-1228's from Bob. consider having Bob re-working the Type E/E2 crossover to be a Type E/4500. This takes advantage of the CT-125 tweeter's response curve. Groomlakearea51
PS: Grills. Easy day, you can do that yourself: See: http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/110684.aspx
Loudogp250
Thanks Groomlakearea51. I will try some of your suggestions. I have emailed crites to purchase risers. He suggested I look into his crossovers & tweeters also. It's getting to the point that I am accumulating to many speakers. :-)
muel
Groomlake gives excellent advice. Not only is the content of his advice very good but his presentation is very clear and concise. He has helped me a lot! Enjoy your Heresys Loudog and thanks Groomlake! [D]

I've got a pair of Heresy speakers modified precisely as groomie lines out and the sound is very pleasing.
