HiYaAll,

I want to replace my woofers on my 1983 Corns. What will work best for a B2 network> K77M and K51V. Confused on which pair to buy from Bob.

Stamped CW1526 or cast CW1526C ?

Your wisdom and experience would be greatly appreciated~

Thanks~

BTW the way. I found a perfect receiver that IS the combo for Corns. Sounds just as good or better then an MX110 / 2505 combo which you are aware is excellent. I was blown away.

Thanks .

Personally, I prefer my Klipsch speakers all Klipsch. Mods also hurt resale value. Having said that, I would recone your bad woofer, or upgrade to better woofers inside the Klipsch family such as early square magnet K-33E or better yet, Electro Voice 15W-Ks. If you are set on Bobs upgrades, I would put the cast frame woofers in.

Should I be concerned about the specs between each woofer? I need the best for the B2 xover.

CW1526C cast frame (from BEC).

Lucky5115,

Any woofer that was an orriginal equipement option for the Cornwall should work fine. Reconing the one you have would be the cheapest option. Bob should be more than happy to recomend which of his woofers he thinks best for you. Myself, I have 5 or 6 different OEM woofer options and the best I've heard is the Electro Voice 15W-K with the Alnico magnet which was used in Klipschorns in the 1950s. I also own round magnet K-33E, K-33E square Magnet, K-43E stanped steel, K-43E Cast frame, K-44E cast frame, and Electro Voice EV15W-K woofers. All of these woofers were all orriginal equipement in Pro Klipschorns, Klipschorns, Pro LaScala, LaScala, Pro Cornwall or Cornwall and should all work fine in matched pairs. The K-33Es of both types are rated at 100 watts RMS, the EV15W-K I believe is also 100 watts RMS, The K-43Es are rated at 200 watts RMS but offer slightly less Bass at lower listening type volumes, and the K-44E is rated at 250 watts RMS each.
