tigerwoodKhorns
Hello all of you electrical types. I need to purchase a pair of these to control a pair of heated seats on my motorcycle. http://www.virtualvillage.com/12v-15a-dc-motor-speed-control-pwm-hho-rc-controller-003601-055.html You can see that it is a box and a potentiometer. I can mount the box somewhee safe and dry (even in a hobby box if needed). But I need to mount the potentiometers where I and my passenger can adjust them. So I need to find a pair of waterproof potentiometers that I can use. I am guessing that step 1 is to contact the supplier for the specs of the potentiometer. What do I need to ask? Then I will need to find a switch that will work that is waterproof. Again, any suggestions? Thanks
JL Sargent
that box you're looking at does "pulse width modulation" to control a DC motor. That is NOT what you would want to control heated seats I suspect.
mustang guy
That should keep you nice and toasy when it gets cold out there. Two of these wired in a three way configuration would allow either of you to turn the seats on/off. A light should be wired in to indicate the seat is actually on. Take the power from the switched side of the ignition, as you would a car stereo, so it doesn't stay on when you shut down. http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lighting-and-Lighting-Accessories/Waterproof-Toggle.aspx?t_c=14&t_s=102&t_pt=3710&t_pl=3613&t_pn=PWP80532 What bike you have?
