cyto Posted April 30, 2012 Share Posted April 30, 2012 I completed the rebuild of my KG4s and this is what I ended up doing Resealed the cabinets New 14awg wiring New gaskets Titanium diaphragms Homemade crossovers with Solen FastCaps (tried Sonicaps but like the Solen sound better) and Goertz inductors (in the woofer circuit) Covers on the passive radiators to keep cats and grandkids out The sound is more crisp and clean, the bass less boomy, which is what I like. Deang Posted May 1, 2012 Share Posted May 1, 2012 Well, I've never heard of anyone preferring a Solen over a Sonicap before, but I guess I really shouldn't be all that surprised since I've always found the Sonicap to sound a bit on the thin side.
