ChipByrd
Hello, this is likely a bonehead question, but here it is: I am awaiting delivery on an Onkyo m-504 and p-304. Is there anyway to (somewhat inexpensively) connect a remote volume control to the 304?
ivanhurd
What kind of remote do you currently have? You can try a universal remote that should work. Check out logitech's harmony line. I believe they have a list of compatible components on their website and see if that's in there.
jhoak
I had the P-306RS / M-506RS for a while. My set did not have any provision for remote control. I'm pretty sure that your set is close in age to what I had. Adding a remote to a preamp that wasn't originally designed or equipped for a remote would likely cost more than the preamp is worth. BUT... There is a way to do it. If you can find a passive preamp with remote control it could be inserted between the preamp and amp. You would then set the volume control on the P-304 to the your highest listening volume and let the passive preamp control the volume. The downside... It's not going to be "somewhat inexpensive". leftwinger57
chip, I have an Onkyo P-301 and for the longest time had no remote. Long story I found a remote at a flea market and it works perfectly and clearly it was for another unit .The model Onkyo # rc200s.The motorized volume control and all the other functions work fine. ChipByrd
This is funny, because I just listed this in the garage section.
