player77
I would like to buy the blue jeans 10 awg belkin cable with the banana plug and spade terminated. The problem is the spades look to big. What size spade exactly would fit does anybody know? I had asked blue jeans but they didnt seem familiar with the cornwalls. Thanks
LarryC
I don't know the exact size, but I believe Stuart at Vampire Wire would know, and his spades are definitely quality. Those vintage tolerances are very tight, so they have to be almost exactly the right size -- a hair too big or too small, and you have to start twisting and bending things to make them fit. It's worth it to get just the right size IMO.
Don Richard
If they use the same terminal strips as the Khorn a lug for #10 wire to fit a #6 screw is what is needed. Panduit makes such a product, last time I checked. If they don't use one like that, order the ends bare and put them on yourself, or your have an electrician do it if you don't have the right crimper. The Dude
Radio shack offers a gold spade. You could replace the terminal strip to something like this. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=091-1246 or heres something similar on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/4PCS-CMC-858-LU-AG-Silver-Plate-Speaker-Binding-Posts-/320587510614?pt=US_Audio_Cables_Adapters&hash=item4aa4813356
player77
Hey thanks for your reply. Would this be a straight swap of the termninal and easy to install? Or would i have to drill it to make it fit? Ideally i wanted a spade but very hard to find 1 that fits.
LarryC
Ideally i wanted a spade but very hard to find 1 that fitsI still think this might be a good bet to e-mail and ask about spades for vintage Klipsch terminals: sales@vampirewire.net
BEC
You can do a google search for Cinch 141 on the datasheet for the Cinch 141 terminal strips, you can see all the details of that strip to see what terminals fit it. Bob Crites
