Scrappydue
So these little guys seem to be on the output level of a la scala. And are supposed to blow the thx ii setup out of the water as well. Just wondering if anyone on this forum has heard them before.
tragusa3
I heard the T12's on the same day that I listened to my LaScalas. The JTRs were more refined / smoother. But they didn't have the dynamic punch of the LaScala. For my goals in theater use, I'm staying where I'm at.
derrickdj1
I heard a pair at a custom shop and they did sound very nice.
CECAA850
Don't they need a ton of power?
Scrappydue
Well they can handle 1200 watts with a sensitivity of 98 plus they are 4 ohms speakers so my emotivas would gain a lot of Power running at 4 ohms. I would have to hear some before I would ever consider them. But I read a lot of good things.

Think about what you just said just a little bit. If big lips were the only metric that determined the attractiveness of a woman, then Jackie Stallone would be the hottest woman around. There's more to it than that, and the same applies to speakers. []
Scrappydue
Yeah I understand there is more to it. The question was asked if they require a ton of power I was simply stating the paper facts that they should be just as if not more efficient than my rf-63's. But thanks for the picture. Gave me a good morning laugh.
Vital
Everything I have read about the JTR's is positive. There is a post somewhere at AVS where a guy switched from Revel Ultima Salon 2's to JTR's and considered it an upgrade. There are a few shoot-outs where the JTR's came out on top of some pretty nice speakers as well. They are big and not very attractive but they just might sound pretty good. I'd like to listen to them sometime but that might be easier said than done.
