Mike Lindsey
Dean, Don't know the difference between these two speakers (other than the driver/horns) but you may want to read my impression of the La Scala's... http://216.37.9.58/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001299.html Mike ------------------ My Music Systems
ShapeShifter
Just wondering which Cornwall II's. Earlier II's with Vertical Horns or later II's with front mounted horns? Difference in Networks too. ------------------ KLIPSCH IS MUSICf> My Systems f>s>c>
Deang
The horns are mounted to the front baffle. ShapeShifter
No comparison on sound, as I have not heard the later II's. My 85 I's which were made just prior to changeover to II's may have similar components. They had K-77-m Tweeters, K-57-K Squawkers & K-33-E Woofers w/B-3 Networks. I changed 85's Tweeters to K-77's and their networks to 71 "B's". Do know the backs on II's aren't removal as on I's. Audible Nectar
I remember reading here (can't find it though) that the Cornwall I w/alnico drivers has a bit "smoother" response, where the later Cornwall II has a bit more "slam". I have the later Cornwall II's (1988) and wouldn't give 'em up for anybody! I think the Cornwall - I or II - is Klipsch's bargain Heritage - so much bang for the buck, especially when available for under $1000 used. Cornwall II's in good condition are certainly worth $750 - even if they are made of MDF
