tromprof
I currently have a nice 5.1 setup with K-horns for LR, La Scala center, and Fortes for sides. There is a pair of KG3.2 for sale locally for under $200. I know they are not in the same league as my other speakers but would they be ok for rear surround duty? Heresys would be ideal but they seem few and far between here and usually cost more than my current budget. Thanks
Moderators Youthman Posted January 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted January 11, 2013 I'm using a pair for my office and they are great speakers. Nice midrange as well as very capable bottom end. $200 won't break the bank to try and if you don't like the way they sound, you can resell them and get what you have into them back. tromprof
Thanks for the reply. I was also thinking given price it would be hard to go wrong, but... I guess what I am really asking is there enough rear channel info to worry about matching the other "better" speakers in the system.
Moderators Youthman Posted January 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted January 11, 2013 I believe the 3.2 will be fine for rears even with your better heritage speakers but actual heritage owners may disagree
wuzzzer
They would do great. I had a pair of KG 3.5s as surrounds for a long time and they worked great. The farther back the speakers the less critical to exactly match the front speakers.
