I wondering if you can "school me" a little bit on the in's and out's of selling items on ebay. I know ebay charges a fee to sell an item, the money is deposited into my paypal account when the item sells. Then when i transfer the money out of my paypal account back to my visa or bank account, Paypal charges another fees. My ficticious example..... if i auction an item and there were 17 bids and the item goes to $100. the buyer pays the $100 plus $8.95 for shipping. the total cost of the item is $108.95. JL Sargent Posted February 21, 2013 Share Posted February 21, 2013 As a general rule If I sell on Ebay I figure it's costing approx. 15% of the final auction price to do it. That is Ebay + Paypal fees combined. I don't think I have ever sold an item on Ebay and get paid through Paypal where Paypal didn't charge me. If I sell you something on Ebay and you pay me with Paypal no matter how you cough up the money, I'm gonna get hit for the 2.9% + .30.
