Magnetmike
I recently picked up a pair of KG-4`s from a musician/conductor that bought them new back in 1985. They sound pretty good but I am thinking of doing a refurb. Looking for opinions and tips on what to do and how to go about it..
SilverSport
bet they could use the crossovers freshened and I thought the jump to Titanium Tweeter diaphragms to be well worth it in the pair of kg4s I had...see Bob Crites (member here BEC) for more details Bill
Daddy Dee
welcome to the forum. silversport offers some good advice if you want to do some refurbing. one thing, might just enjoy them and acquainted with the sound for a season. Then you will be able to hear any difference and improvements you make.

Haven't done the crossovers on mine yet but on older speakers it has always made a nice improvement. BTW the titanium diaphragm replacement is surprisingly easy, 20 min. or so for each speaker. MKAbroad
I use my KG4s now as surround speakers. I second the recommendations above to replace the tweeter diaphragms with Titanium ones from Crites. I'm in the U.K. now, had some brought over, and changed them recently - I noticed an improvement, speakers acquired some personality. Crossovers are next...
