McMiRA
Just took the next step on the beat up LSI splits. Crites 4500 networks came in yesterday and I installed them in the top cabinets that already house crites tweeters. Hooked everything back up. Huge difference, somewhat brighter. But I blame that's on the room. The 2 ch System is preamp'd through my marantz sr 7007 and powered through a Lafayette stereo 236a tube amp. So far I'm very pleased with everything but I have one issue. When I power everything down and finally get to turning off the Lafayette it has always had a small pop to it. But now with the new crossovers that pop has become very loud. I'm worried this might damage something. Is this a valid concern?
CECAA850
Turn your amps on last and off first.
McMiRA
I have done that before and the music slowly fades away to nothing. That won't hurt it?
DizRotus
I have done that before and the music slowly fades away to nothing. That won't hurt it? Much safer than a "pop"!
billybob
And just to be doing it, turn down the volume before powering up/down. May help some. If nothing else a good practice to get anyone who may use your system trained. And follow the above advice.
