firedawg24
I finally purchased an Academy to match my Chorus II's and I couldnt be happier. Anyhow, ive had my C2's for 20 years and they are getting long in the tooth. I have been contemplating building new cabinets from either bamboo or palm plywood, has anybody on here heard of anybody doing such a thing? Any opinions woild be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance
ZombieWoof
I wrapped my 74 cornwalls with 3/4" Oak plywood , no sense to rebuild the cabs really stiffened them up as well bass response was improved . Bamboo ply would work the same
firedawg24
I've never thought of that. I didn't want to increase the bulk that much but maybe a 1/2 or 1/4 inch ply all around might be an option.
Daddy Dee
bamboo veneers are also available. hadn't thought of this before your post, but think the results could be very nice.

moray james
Go to a big box home store or flooring shop and get some bamboo scrap or shorts then take it home and work with it a little. One warning, if you do not have all carbide cutting tools don't go there. Best regards Moray James.
