just saw this on C/L

Recommended Posts

I was cruising C/L and saw an add that said these are the military version of the 5.5 towers. Now while I never served I do know that PXs do sell all sorts of audio gear for serviceman and women but I never heard of a miltiary version of a speaker. Is this true ? If so how many different models were made and then you wouldn't you have a confused puplic on what exactly are these speakers if not fully aprised where they came from.

Klipsch did make versions to be sold in the exchanges for the military and for the Canadian market. Whether they are exact models of the stuff we get in the states, I think so. But don't quote me on it.

I believe the KG series was the only series sold as such and were re-labeled KM.

There were some sold to civilians through regular electronics stores, too. I bought a pair of KM-4 (KG 3.5) Secondhand that was such, with original receipt. The store hq was near a Navy Base Exchange, though.

I have (2) pairs of the km-6s and one km-c center. They are identical to my pair of kg 5.5s. If I had extra coin I'd like to pick up 2 more pairs to finish out my 11.2.
