Schu
I am wanting a bit more from my system in as far as separation, clarity and power... I am looking at used solid state units fro now and have considered brystons, but I think the reviews of them not being musical might be well founded. I am also searching for a parasound or levinson... does anyone have any recommendations? Coming from a wonderful SC35 Pioneer that I will probably not sell(use for home theater) . trying to stay in the 1500$ range... might be able to stretch it a little. there is a parasound A21 on ebay I am looking at. willland
This here is a rediculous deal. I owned (5) of these a couple of years ago and they are fantasic amps. Powerful, "warmish", great soundstage. These usually go for around $200.00 each. Worth a shot even just to demo. If and when you go to sell, you will get back all your $$$ and then some. http://app.audiogon.com/listings/solid-state-marantz-ma700-power-amp-2013-09-02-amplifiers-83716 Maybe not on par with a Levinson but plenty musical/powerful for the $$$ spent. willland
Schu, It would be tough to find a more musical, powerful and punchy, new 2-channel amp for the price. http://app.audiogon.com/listings/solid-state-nad-c-275bee-c275bee-power-amplifier-with-manufacturer-s-warranty-free-shipping-2013-09-05-amplifiers-01060 If the price is too low, buy two and run them as monoblocks.[] Bill
willland
there is a parasound A21 on ebay I am looking at. A fine amp indeed but if you are considering paying the price of the A21, for a little more you could get this. I love spending other people's money.[] http://app.audiogon.com/listings/solid-state-aragon-8008-as-new-2013-08-18-amplifiers-48059-fort-gratiot-mi Stock photo above/below Bill
Schu
I am having an urge to look at Bel Canto monoblocks... does anyone have any first hand experience with them? I take it they are another version of the B&O ice based amp???
CECAA850
If you're stretching your budget, look at THIS . I believe these normally come with a 7 year warranty and are built like a tank. Extremely musical (I have a 2 channel version) and an unbelievable ability to deliver current on demand. All their chassis will take additional modules for more channels (I believe). Some models require a 20 amp plug so research before buying.

CECAA850
THIS ATI looks superb because I only run 3.1... I do like seperates set up also. It's a beast, but I can't emphasize enough how good they sound. That one takes the 20 amp plug.
