Max2 Posted January 16, 2015 Share Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) Klipsch had voice coil issues with some of the white KG drivers. They had tons of excursion and seemed to damage the voice coil with good power. Them being a 92db 4ohm speaker didn't help matters either. I think a lot of them just got driven too hard. They replaced a couple for me with updated solid black versions. If you can post a pic or pull a driver you could verify it being a Klipsch more than likely. I need to check mine because I just read the specs from avguytx link and it shows 94 db and 6 ohms. I was almost certain mine said different on the speaker jack cups. billybob Posted January 16, 2015 Share Posted January 16, 2015 Some 8 inch woofers on the 4 are light blue tint in color have noticed. Believe those came out of some other KG model, like the 2? Black replacements as said could be Klipsch. Some cups showed 4 ohm, others 8? I had the 4 Ohm. Need to do a search here.
