avguytx
After 6 months of waiting, it finally worked out that a generous fellow on AudioKarma was on a trip to Austin and on his way back home to Kansas, offered to Pony Express them. My wife and I left at 5am this morning and met him in Ft Smith to pick them up. The finish on them is black satin and in kind of rough shape on top; faded/worn off, etc. the sides, fronts and backs are fine though. I may end up re-veneering them in Walnut, Oak, or maybr something more exotic. Not sure. Hell, I might even paint the tops, get some smoked tempered glass, and place those on top. So far, I don't hear cabinet rattle but I haven't gone nuts with them yet. Maybe when wife is outside. But even in stock form, they sound good. I'm just glad all the drivers are in perfect condition. Well worth the price paid by far.
toolz
Sounds like the wait was worth it. Nice looking set up. Now it's time to sit back and enjoy the music.
Max2
When I bought my 30's several, several years ago I painted my KG4's to match and I believe Klipsch said RED DEVIL black satin was the perfect match.
avguytx
Good info to know. I appreciate that! I can veneer no problem but trying to decide if I can live with Black Satin or veneer and stain them to match the rack. tnr
Congrats. I wish I had veneer experience. If you have that talent, go for it and please post project pics. Meanwhile rock em!
