Mr. Clark
If it's lighter, it's likely an oak. If it's got a lot of grain to see and its darker, Walnut. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
WMcD
You can look at this thread: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/73189-picture-thread-exotic-original-veneersheritage-rarities/page-1?hl=+wood +samples And go to post 251. There is a post of veneers available. But that is quite a while ago. Walnut, on my Quartets is something around chocolate ice cream or darker. Definitely brown with a bit of red. Oak is usually more toward yellow-tan unless it is stained, and I think Klipsch was not doing that. WMcD
Moderators dtel Posted June 18, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 18, 2015 (edited) If it's lighter, it's likely an oak. If it's got a lot of grain to see and its darker, Walnut. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Exactly We have 2 pair of Forte ll in Oak and an original pair of Forte's in Walnut and the Walnut is definitely darker. EDIT; I found this looking through the link Mr McDermitt posted, some great pic's in that thread. Our Oak and Walnut's look exactly like the ones pictured here.
