bhames
I have attached a few pics of one of the speaker set. The other speaker set is in equal / better condition (no peeling of plywood). On the topic of the peeling layer of the plywood. Any one have any suggestions for repairing the veneer and then duplicating the pebbled paint finish of the interior of the doghouse? I have a few thoughts but thought I would throw it out there. Thanks again for everyone's input. -brent Edited February 23, 2016 by bhames
jimjimbo
Those are not bad at all.....The trim looks a whole lot better than others I've seen/owned. I would recommend Bondo, then Duratex on the bottom peeling.
colterphoto1
Two things I think people don't take into account with the LSI-BG. The fiberglass mat/gel coat adds a lot of dampening to those large 2x2' sections of 3/4" plywood, and the aluminum edging helps to maintain the stiffness of the mouth of the horn. They're far tighter bass than any other LS I've owned.
colterphoto1
that's very little delimitation. Easy Bondo fix. The rest of the cabinets/ trim etc look to be in reasonably good shape based on the photos I've seen here. bhames
Asking price? I picked up this pair of LaScalas because they brought me back to my early college days when my fraternities LaScalas would shake the house. I would part with them for $1500 which I know is a premium but it is what it is given their nostalgia to my youth....getting old is a *****.
bhames
Here is a pic of my La Scala after some bondo, duratex, and new badge (vinyl on metal). Thanks for the suggestions to make the repairs. Edited May 11, 2016 by bhames
