EML 45 vs NOS 45

Hi Everyone,

 

I'm about to invest some cash into an tube amp.

Currently debating which tube to buy the EML 45 or NOS 45.

Has anyone heard these two types and how do they compare besides that the EML's are more expensive. 

Is it worth the extra money?

I use both globe NU-245 and mesh EML45. Entirely different critters. I love the EML but they are pricey. The odds of getting good alleged NOS 45 tubes is very hard. You might spend more collecting 45 NOS tubes till you get a good pair. These tubes are very old and even NOS might have issues. I like listening to both but I'd give the nod to EML I mean the build quality is superb.

That's a big 45! I also use 45's and out of the 6 tubes I have purchased off e-bay, all run fine.
