Sometimes you can get lucky and simply adjust the clutch with feeler gauge and back in business.

Sometimes the coil in the clutch is weak and it only works when the clutch is cold.

Between you and Carls conversation, thinking I may look at the coil again. Maybe get a feeler gauge. Thanks!

After too many repairs, some multiple times, he got rid of it, to be replaced by Camrys and Subarus.

The only Volvo he ever liked was the stern drive in a boat

Got an older brother who is still and was a line car mechanic in Orlando. Rebuilt bicycles in his early teens. One of 2 mechanics in family earlier on, both used car dealers awhile back. He used to tune up FHP patrolcars and take out on the 1-4 interstate there to check them out. A mechanics mechanic. One day he threw his hammer and started union pipefitting, along with other brother. Disney World, Epcot.

When I was 16, well will save that but, has a Camry as a keeper for some time now. I like Subarus.

We bought an old Stamas v-hull 19 footer with inboard 4 cyl. Volvo. Caught some Redfish in same boat. Could almost keep up with another brother's 22'

Pro-Line.  If boat a bit lighter, we may have, lol.

A/C diagnosis can be tricky, even for experts.  I had a new '91 Taurus that had faulty A/C.  After 5 failed attempts to repair it, Ford bought it back under the Michigan "Lemon Law."  It was replaced in '93 for a net cost to me of $600; not bad for two years of use.  The $600 was to pay for two upgrades; 3.8L and passenger air bag.

It was comical toward the end.  On the fourth and fifth attempts a Ford factory specialist was involved.  He got in the car and put, what looked like a meat thermometer, in the A/C vent to see if it blew sufficiently cold air.  I chuckled, "You won't need that.  When it quits it feels like Saigon in August in here."  The clutch and compressor were not the explanation.  If Ford could have figured it out, they would have fixed it.

The other lesson learned was to hire a lemon lawyer.  Ford was jacking me around on replacing the car.  Ford expected me to pay ~$2,000 toward a replacement. After several fruitless dealings with Ford reps, I called an attorney who specializes in lemon law cases.  She sent a single letter to Ford and the deal was done.  Under the law, Ford replaced the car and paid her fee.  She knew who to contact at Ford. Ford knew they couldn't win. The BS stopped immediately.

Yes they are tricky. Saw another video of a different dude walking through some troublrshooting I may post. Weekend and my back will see if done and done.

Interesting story about the Taurus. Sounded like the big wigs were scratching their head. Pulled off a coup it reads like in the end. Yes, right is right.

Whelp, figured she would honk about scheduling the car since"You are not a Prof:lol:essional" and "It's my car, and I want it fixed"!

So I says, "It's your money"! Scheduled for next Thursday AM with OEM, not reman. 1 year parts and labor.

Well hers is a 99 and mine a 2000, with cold AC...lol

Thanks for all the input and if thread hopes someone, I say cool!
