KitNorrie
Klipsch posted a photo on Facebook today of what appears to be the R-26F but in the description it says no receiver required. I figured this must mean it's a new powered speaker based on the R-26F and started doing some digging. Sure enough, I found the R-26PF on Crutchfield available for pre-order priced at $999.99. But wait there's more! I did some more digging and found a brochure with that also mentions a R-28PF and a R-14PM (see attached). With the R-15PM and The Sixes already on the market and The Fifteens coming down the pipe Klipsch really seems to be diving deep into the powered speaker niche. chriswhotakesphotos
Considering that this is the market for powered floorstanders, I suppose Klipsch realized that if people are going to buy these they should at least sound decent
KitNorrie
Update: Klipsch has listed the new powered speakers on their website with specs and prices: R-14PM - $399 R-26PF - $999 R-28PF - $1199
The History Kid
I'm only really interested in maybe the Sixes or the Fifteens. I'd only have been interested in the other towers if they were made of the same stock as the Reference (original) or Reference Premier line. Moderators dtel Posted October 3, 2017 Moderators Share Posted October 3, 2017 It is a good idea powered speakers, but not for me, give me wires and a outboard amp, they will be around for a really long time.
JohnA
The idea began around 2000 with the acquisition of Mondial. Too bad the economy and especially 2008/2009 intervened. i was hoping for a Heritage SS power amp that ran class A to 10 watts and Class AB to 50.
