tigerwoodKhorns
I was looking up an old set of JBLs that I have and found this. Sounds like quite an engineer. $40 too much in my book... I bought a pair of JBL LX44 speakers from a friend 3 years ago. The woofers were shot and needed to be replaced but the midrange and titanium tweeter were like new. I only paid $40.00 for them, and was going to pay about $200.00 to fix the woofers. One day I looked across the street at the neighbors house and there was a set of old Bose 201 speakers in the trash. The speaker cabinets were shot but all the speakers were in great shape,so I took the 201 woofers out and installed them in the JBL LX44's They were about 1/8th of an inch to small but I was able to screw them in good. To my suprise they sounded great, alot better than I thought. The only problem is rescently the left woofer crackles a bit when the volume is real high, but at normal volume they sound like new. It's a JBL-Bose combo. It has a great but unique suond to it. For $40.00 you can't beat it.
wuzzzer
$50 too much. He should pay someone to take them off his hands.
oldtimer
I don't know, you could combine the parts with some infinity's and polk's and really have something special.
