Forte I sound compare?

I have found a used pair in good condition at a reasonable price.  I am still looking at new, most likely HeresyIV or CW IV. Thoughts on the !'s performance?  Worth trying to upgrade?

Forte 1 speakers are very good speakers ---bigger than Heresy --

For the price a pair of used fortes are hard to beat.  Yes, the newer models have improvements.  But, does a new pair of Heresy IV sound 3+ times better than a vintage forte pair?  Doubtful.

Yes they are.

Sergei is in the Ukraine enjoying the ones I sold him about 9 years ago.

I had Forte I's for many years. They are incredible paired with my vintage Marantz 2245 (warm, full, and dynamic), not so much with the old Yamaha RX900U receiver (harsh and brittle tone) I had before I got the 2245. I did the Crites titanium tweeter diaphragm upgrades. I sold them to my buddy, they sound wonderful paired with his vintage McIntosh ss receiver. I replaced them with Chorus II's, which have a bigger, fuller sound. But the Forte's go deeper on the low end. Thankfully, I still get to listen to them weekly when hangin' out at my friend's crib. They are awesome speakers, I miss them a lot.
