Ed M
I’m currently selling a pair of these speakers. A potential buyer has asked in the grille comes off. I’ve never taken them off. The grille looks like it on pretty solid. How do you safely take them off without damaging them. Not sure how they are secured. Any info would be much appreciated. AndreG.
Hi Ed, I´ve got the same speakers. The grilles are fastened with velcro-tabs to the motor board. Just take something, like a teaspoon and gently pry them loose. What can happen, as it did with my baybies, beeing 40 years old, is that the tabs on the motor board come of. But You can just glue them in place again. André Edited August 5, 2020 by AndreG.
MC39693
Those should be held on with 8 to 10 Velcro dots. I use a putty knife, flat edge, to gently pry the top of the grill away from the motor board, just off center. When out enough, use your fingers to pry out the rest of the top, then the sides, gently... then the bottom.
wuzzzer
A large coin works too. Just put a soft cloth around it when you pry the grille so you don't damage the wood.
