Peacemaker
Looking for one Academy speaker to use a center channel speaker with my La Scala's. Preferably in Walnut oil, Oak oil or Oak clear. Thanks! Best Regards, Gary
wuzzzer
Your LaScalas set up as a phantom center are infinitely more capable and will sound infinitely better than an Academy will.
MC39693
There’s an Academy Center channel at Sound Hounds in Victoria BC. Likely a consignment sale. Sound Hounds are well respected. Might be tricky to get across the border? Good Luck.

Peacemaker
What would be a reasonable price to pay for one of these speakers? The ones on the bay are 1279/pair or 699 for one. Seems a bit rich for my blood! Maybe a phantom center is the way to go as suggested by @wuzzzer 🤔 Edited December 8, 2020 by Jeepnmon
DTO
LOL i rememberer seeing them. I did not recall the price. I sold a stock oil oak one one for $300 about four months ago that was pretty good. I’ve seen them sold as high as $450 or so. As much as I agree that the phantom can be great depending on how directional (atmos/dtsx) of a system you want the more direct radiating channels the better.
