ChrisK
I'm still shaking my head over this article I read this morning - http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/la-et-vinyl18dec18011425.story Regards, Chris
j-malotky
Chris Looks like you need to have a password to get the article. Maybe you could post the highlights. JM
anarchist
The highlights are several artists are now artificially adding 'snap, crackle, and pops' to their songs to emulate the "scratchy" sound of vinyl - to make their songs sound "old", etc. It doesn't particularly sound fond of vinyl - "cheap record players" being another reference but it is interesting artists are finding CD is too "sterile." Make up you own opinion though. Interestingly enough, many sites with free registrations usually have some id you can easily use to login. With minimal thought you should be able to figure out the user id/password for an unknown person.
HDBRbuilder
Methinks a better solution for these artists would be to record in analog to start with and then offer up their releases on vinyl, in addition to CD format...LOL! We can then add-in our OWN scratches and pops to the vinyl, if we choose to do so! LOL! Some people seem to have really weird tangents on logic, it seems! LOL!
