AND YET THE DISORDER AND DISINTEGRATION MAY BE BALANCED BY CREATIVE ACTS WROUGHT FROM THE HUMAN IMAGINATION

"Where many of these imaginative designers find hope is in humanitys bittersweet capacity to transform the natural world, a belief that what has been undone can be redone. Afterall, as Fuller said, "We are exquisite entropy." "Exquisite" because there is something profoundly beautiful, as many designers discover, about creations that actually work, and because, as Fuller saw it, it is a human beings proper role to counteract material entropy. The world is constantly breaking down. There is chaos at the heart of creation, and yet the disorder and disintegration may be balanced by creative acts wrought from the human imagination."

Entropy

The idea of entropy, of the constant and irreversible winding down of the universe, was introduced with the second law of thermodynamics. This law is based on an observation of James Watt's steam machine, which was the only technological utilization of thermal energy available at the time.

Entropy is associated with radiation. It signifies an ever increasing randomity of motion, an expenditure of the "innate energy of a system". According to the current views of thermodynamics, there is no antidote to entropy. Once expended, energy is said to be lost forever in that giant heat sink, which we imagine the vast reaches of the universe to be.

One of the great minds of this century, an outsider to established science, has recognized the folly of this view and coined a term for the antidote. He calls it syntropy. In his book "Cosmography", R. Buckminster Fuller writes (6): "The reader will discover that the inexorable course of the gradual running down of the energy of the universe - that is, entropy - is only part of the picture. Entropy has a complementary phase, which we designated syntropy".

We can now assert that syntropy is real, and that it is closely associated with the second kind of motion discussed above, with the centripetal, the vortex motion.

While radiation is an entropic phenomenon, gravitation is an expression of syntropy.

Gravitation

We know much about radiation, but comparatively little is known about its "negative" twin, gravitation. I am using the term gravitation here in a much wider sense than is generally done in physics. Gravitation in this context means an electromagnetic phenomenon associated with a vortex in space background. It is a twin of radiation, only with the vector inversed. Gravitation is a pulling phenomenon, and the effect we are most familiar with is that gravitation keeps us firmly glued to this planet. But gravitation is more than that. It can manifest itself in just as wide a range of wavelengths as does radiation.

Gravitation in this extended sense explains for instance the phenomenon found in most "free energy" devices, which often show a marked cooling effect on their immediate environment. This is simply radiation in reverse, caused by an independent source of gravitation, a point of attraction, which causes energy to "inflow" towards that point, rather than expanding outwards from it, as we usually observe.

Anti-gravity thereby becomes accessible to engineering. If gravitation is nothing but an inverse radiation, a pulling phenomenon associated with a vortex, all we need to do in order to obtain levitation or anti-gravity is to establish an independent source of gravitation and orient it in opposition to the gravitation of this planet. Applications in space propulsion would be comparatively easy to engineer.

How do we establish an independent source of gravitation? We establish, by whatever means available, magnetic, mechanic or otherwise, a strong vortex in the background field of space. There are numerous examples of such occurrences in the tales that surround the field of "free energy", that have not been understood so far and therefore were incredulously dismissed as the fantasies of a bunch of loonies.

Maybe we should look at these phenomena again and try to understand them with the new conception we now have of gravity?

Thus gravity uses energy more efficiently than radiation, which accounts for the eternal dominance of syntropy over entropy. The energy conserved is invested in the constant transformative transpositioning of the eternal regeneration of Universe. The dominance of syntropy over entropy is the dominance of the metaphysical over the physical and guarantees an eternal resolution of all conflicts between the physical and the metaphysical in favor of the metaphysical. Mind will always win over energy. Omniconsiderate love will always win out over ruthless selfishness, but the score is only cosmically accounted and the meager, momentarily-visible-and-tunable considerations cannot so inform the inherently limited comprehension of the local players. The players may easily be deluded into misassuming that momentary victories won by treachery or physical force are of lasting importance. The invisible design provides for the only-slowly- gestating self-education of humanity from naked, helpless ignorance at birth, through individual trial-and-error coping with necessities, to omnigraduation into functioning with omnireliable., omniloving, intellectual-integrity-governing individuals of an omnifaithfully operative and truthful society. The cosmic design often employs precession to guide the ignorant players into inadvertently producing the evolutionarily necessary regenerative integrity functions, while the ignorant are consciously preoccupied only in vain and selfishly expedient ends.

Entropy is the universal tendency for energy to disperse and systems to decay. R. Buckminster Fuller coined a neat term for the opposite tendency: syntropy, whereby energy is concentrated and systems develop in complexity.

During my research, I came across the works of the Buckminster Fuller. In his world of geodesics he claimed that the pinnacle and driving force of evolution was Love. What he called Syntropy, was a Love based evolutionary force that returned man from his disordered state to a greater, more infinitely ordered metaphysical domain (Heaven). What he called entropy was the fear guilt based devolutionary tendency that turned man from his ordered state to a lesser, more finitely disordered domain (Hell).

The Love and Light of Syntropy is the secret key to opening the hearts gateway to Grace.

The Austrian physicist Erwin Schroedinger, one of the founders of Quantum Mechanics, first proposed the idea that biological organization is created and maintained at the expense of thermodynamic order. Life displays two fundamental processes: creating order from order (the progeny has the same order as the parent) and creating order from disorder (as every living system does at every metabolic step, eating and growing). Living systems seem to defy the second law of Thermodynamics. In reality, they live in a world of energy flux that does not conform to the closed-world assumptions of Thermodynamics. An organism stays alive in its highly organized state by absorbing energy from the environment and processing it to produce a lower entropy state within itself. "Living organisms feed upon negative entropy": they attract "negative entropy" in order to compensate for the entropy increase they create by living. Life is "negentropic". The existence of a living organism depends on increasing the entropy of the rest of the universe.

Hopefully you found your bed after that rather interesting and graceful progression from physics to philosophy. Faith, hope, charity and love ... but the greatest of these is love, indeed.

I took a course in college on "negentropy", i.e., a zero-sum game based on closed systems, but I think syntropy is a more center-lined nomenclature.

Perhaps you need to change your handle from C&S to E&S ...

Interesting thread that Dean started here, Mobile jump-started, and you finished (for now).

Cool stuff. I need to get me one of those funnel caps liked Clipped is wearing. Deep stuff. Lot's of meat and potatoes.

Why sure, there is no limit to the human imagination. If it can be thought, it can be done. If humans have the capacity for great imagination and intelligence -- then I see God as being the source from which all things flow. God is not "intelligent" -- He IS intelligence itself. I see creation as the canvas on which God did his painting, and just as the artist stands outside of the canvas as he does his work -- so God is. A mind greater than our own is at work here. We can barely comprehend the mechanics involved with the functioning of all things -- and yet we would deny the POSSIBILITY of a Creative Agent? Doesn't "order" and "design" point to this? Can there be order without an ordainer, or design without a designer?

Entropy is a steel trap. Yes, life involves a rapid building up of energy using complex material into organized forms. However, at some point it stops -- and Entropy takes over. There is a rapid building up, followed by a gradual slowing down, and then a complete reversal. Truly, there are no "closed" systems. http://www.icr.org/pubs/imp/imp-040.htm

Also, gravity is having it's own problems with Entropy. The universe is rapidly expanding, but it is not expanding the way most people think. It is not just moving away from the "center" -- but all material is also increasing distance in relationship to the material adjacent to it. It is like a balloon with dots on it, and as you blow air into it -- all of the points on the surface of the balloon start moving away from each other. Some of us believe that when all usable energy has been depleted, the whole thing will snap back on itself like a rubber band.

"The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place."

Evolution and Humanism do a rather poor job of explaining the bigger picture, or offering real solutions to managing the faulty mechanics responsible for the "broken" human condition.

Evolution has major problems, most stemming from the fossil records, dating methods of rocks, and observable biology. Humanism brings with it this idea that we can somehow pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps.

Alas, this simple minded fool has trouble with much of this.

A final thought -- If anything we imagine can be possible, and we "imagine" God -- doesn't that mean He could be?

I did enjoy reading your posts Clipped, and I'm glad you shared the thoughts.

A woman goes shopping for her Christmas turkey. She goes to the frozen foods section, and finding the freezer where they are, begins rolling them around, looking for just that right one.

After a few minutes, she looks over to one of the store employees, who is stocking another freezer, and asks, "Excuse me, but do these get any bigger?"

The employee responds, "No ma'am, they're all dead."
