What mode do you put the DD 5.1 for PC EAX gaming?

I had this exact same question. It's my understanding that it's not possible to achieve this. If you want EAX capability, you have to use the analog outputs on your sound card. Otherwise, the best you can do is enable ProLogic decoding on the DD-5.1 (in which case you still won't get the environmental effects of EAX but it'll somewhat play out of all of your speakers instead of just your front speakers (Stereo).

What I did in order to be able to play EAX games and also watch movies/listen to music using the DD-5.1 was buy 3 Headphone Cable Y-Adapters from Radio Shack and plug them into the inputs on the back of the Promedia Sub. Then I ran a set of 3 audio cables (stereo cables) from the DD-5.1 to one of the inputs on 3 Y-Adapters and also ran a set of 3 audio cables from the sound card analog outputs to the other input on the Y-Adapter.

Then all you have to do is open the Creative Speaker Settings and check (if you want to use the DD-5.1) / uncheck (if you want to use the analog outputs on the sound card for EAX) the Digital Output Only box. Everything works perfectly for me. Hope this helps.
