gbrlex
Has anyone ever had the opportunity to compare the KLF 30;s to the Infinity Kappa 8;s? I just got a pair of the Kappa 8's and I'm in the process of re-storing them.

Fish
I have 30's and have heard 8's but not side by side. I doubt the 8's would out loud the 30's, they get pretty crazy loud. As to quality of sound, it's mostly in the ear of the listener. The room and gear would have a large impact too. They certainly would be great to restore, regardless. For sound quality Klipsch speakers are not hard to compete with....
gbrlex
Thanks for your replies. I love my 30's but am curious about what the 8's can do with the proper power since they dip to 2 ohms at 90hz. I'm considering adding a Crown XLS 1002 digital amp that delivers 525 watts per channel at 2 ohms.
avguytx
Yeah....you're not going to get a real non-biased opinion from a Klipsch forum about Infinity speakers. That question would be better asked on a different forum like Audiokarma. I've owned KLF-30's and I've owned Infinity RS-IIIb's, RS-II's, Quantum 3's, and Kappa 7's and mainly it's a different presentation. For most things, I preferred the Infinity's but it depends on your musical tastes and what you listen to most often. No one speaker will do it all perfectly, unfortunately.
