Halfa
Hello folks! I’ve been on these forums about 10 years or so ago when I was building my HT system and gotten such good advice and suggestions. I’m hoping to get that now. I found some palladium 39f for sale at 7k out the door. When they came out I only dreamed of them especially at 20k. Drooling is actually a better adjective lol. By no means am I rich, I actually just had to retire because of health issues, but I find myself at a place where I could afford them, it’s pushing it but they are kinda of my dream speaker plus the wife is giving me the okay 🙂. Right now I am running klf-20/rc-64/rs7 and an svs pb13-ultra sub. For my pre I have a marantz av7706 and for my amp and earthquake cinenova grand 5. I have a decent size living room with a 20’ ceiling and no back wall behind me it leads to the kitchen. So it takes quite a bit of watts to fill the room. Especially because I love my music loud!! I do love the way my music sounds, I’ve had many people tell me how awesome it sounds. Man turn off the lights put some tool on and it’s a religious experience. I also will be using the system for movies. Nothing like Pearl Harbor fight scene in dts to blow people away. Im kinda of a tight wad so I’m asking your guys advice if I should pull the trigger. Is my equipment capable of making this purchase worth it or is it gonna sound so mismatched? also I’ve seen some posts on the net about the woofers separating and that scares the sh&@t out of me so does anyone have any input on that. I’m pretty much a tight wad and spending that kind of money on a set of speakers is lot for me to let go of the cash. But they are my dream speaker! They are beautiful and the reviews have been stellar. Sorry for the book but any input would be really appreciated. Especially if any folks here have a pair would love to hear your input. Thanks folks I’ll keep checking back rock on!!

OO1
P-39F , 0 replacement parts available and there are no equivalents -one issue ....woofers , a few batches had separation of the glue between the various layers of the cone , it was limited to the upper layer , next to the aluminium outer ring . Halfa
Thanks 001! I tried that and it said couldn’t find my email or something like that. I’ve had the same email forever it’s an aol email so that should tell you how old lol. Don’t know why probably me some how. Halfadeck was my old user name. I’m gonna see if I can look up my posts it’s been so long ago it would be pretty interesting to see what dumb sh**t I posted back then haha
Halfa
Yeah I seen no replacement parts anymore. That’s what scares me. If you say it was a few batches I wonder if there would be some way to figure out by the serial numbers when those batches occurred and check the ssn on the speakers for sale. These are from a store that deals with hi end equipment and builds home theaters for people. They were a trade in. The person that traded them in got some 10000k + speakers so they didn’t know. I did ask him.

Ceptorman
Welcome back Halfa. I wouldn't worry too much about the separation issue, it was pretty rare. I have a pair of P38s that were built in 2009, been used a lot, and no problems at all. They were a prototype built in Indy, no serial numbers. I did get the center, P312 sub, and a pair of P17b for surrounds a few years later. 7K for a pair of P39s is a good buy. I would move quickly or they might disappear. What color are they, they are all beautiful, I'm partial to merlot. There's a very interesting photo of all 3 towers together, the 39s are massive. My friend is the lead acoustical engineer in Indy, he made the comment once that if the P39 had a larger cabinet, they could really sound good. Halfa
Thanks folks. Appreciate the advice still deciding. The speakers are pretty far away so working on a way to get them too me. If I find a reasonable way to get them I’ll probably pull the trigger
