I currently have an old Technics tube amp model # sa-5270. it has 165 watts and i was told that it was running 35 watts to my speakers. it sounds really nice like this but i want a newer amp that i can run more things off. in the future i plan to run my dvd and tv on it and possibly my computer. what type of newer amp can do this? and where can i get one for a decent price?

Try to find an old McIntosh Solid State like a 50 or 100 watt per channel stereo amp for your music listening and set up a completely different system for TV/surround etc... IMO the two don't mix well.

I have been much more satisfied with my 2 channel music listening system since I ditched the surround out of it.

There's a reason why the Klipsch Heritage and the McIntosh amplifiers were sold together by so many dealers 20 years ago. They work well together and Mc has a great reputation.
