chronometers
Hi all -- Curious as to what the connection is, if any, with Klipsch and HPS? HPS' theater system looks like a previous generation La Scala with some mods. John Allen spent a lot of money to bring back the T35 tweeter that is used in Klipsh's heritage speakers currently as well as the A-55-G Midrange Compression Drivers. https://www.hps4000.com/pages/525_.html Has anyone else used these drivers as replacements in vintage units? What have the results been? 525.pdf

He was once the US distributor for Klipsch cinema speakers, and when PWK sold Klipsch Professional to WWE Technologies (this is a whole other story), John was unhappy with the quality and he started making his own units, inspired by and, to some, an improvement on, Klipsch designs (this is extremely apparent) and built by Gary Gillum (the G in KG), who designed the MCM system with PWK. There are HPS4000 designs which take elements of PWK's work and Peavey horns too. Lots of cinemas around the world use HPS4000. He did indeed buy the rights to the supertweeter, and has had it made in Vietnam (or one of Dai-Ichi's factories) for many years, and supplied it to Klipsch for a while, until it was replaced by a Celestion version. JohnA
Yes, Mr. Allen is a friend to Klipsch and each has helped the other. I met THE John Allen at a pilgrimage. Nice bloke, indeed.
