Rexx
My brother bought a pair of RP-5's after listening to mine. When he placed them in his room his tv picture turned green even before he connected the speakers and plugged them in. The speakers are placed 6 feet from the tv. Could they be causing intereference from that distance? Klipsch specs say horn and mid bass are shielded but doesn't say anything about the Subs. If the speakers are the culprit is there a solution other than move them further away? Thanks in advance.
pennektj
I had the same problem with a powered pair of JBL's before I gave them away. if the turn the speaker (toe-in / toe-out) and the green coloration moves, you can guarentee it the magnet causing the interference. Is there anything you can place between the speaker and TV to block the magnet field? Furniture, etc.
justin_tx_16
those are magnetically sheilded, this should not happen. Try moving them a little further away.
pennektj
If those are in fact magnetically shielded, you should be able to stick them on top of your TV... i.e. center channeel, with no problems. magnetically shielded speaker don't causes problems regardless of the vicinity to the TV. lynnm
He could try putting bucking magnets on the woofers and subs.
Rexx
What are bucking magnets and how are they applied? Does anyone know if the sub portion in the RP-5's are shielded?
