Chorus 1 missing woofer

Recommended Posts

I recently acquired a set of Chorus 1 that are missing the woofers. I know that the stock woofers are k-48. But since they are missing I'm thinking of using k-33 or maybe even Eminence Kappa 15C 4ohm woofers. Supposedly the Eminence are replacement speakers. And the reason I'm considering using either of those woofers is I'm hoping to get a better performing woofer in the lower range. So that's my question, what do you all think of this. And of course I'm open to suggestions for a replacement. I got the speakers for free and the cabs and grill are in great shape. And the crossovers have been recapped already. So spending a little money is not an issue.

Thanks

Yes k48k k48e, both came in chorus. Hard to best those.

Think that kappa is the way forward as the 48s

Can be hard to find, at times.

Would have patience until another member like

@jjptkd...

see this... welcome!

Call or email Klipsch customer support if you can send them pictures of your speakers and serial numbers you should be able to order new k-48-st woofers. Otherwise I'd try and pick up a used set of k-48's from eBay just make sure they're 4 ohm as I've seen both 4 & 8 ohm versions.

Thanks for the info. What about the k33 or the Eminence. Are those viable possibilities?

Im thinking since the woofers are not there maybe a custom replacement for a custom build?

The 48s are pro level speakers.

Awesome bass... @rockerrr

So how do I know those are K48S?  Unfortunately I dont know what all the numbers mean.

Or am I misunderstanding something...

Both the first reply are basically original chorus speakers the k

and the e, as understand it the e for made by Eminence.

The one mentioned by member are the best replacement sold by Klipsch, which you need to contact Klipsch about.purchasing. The k-48-st.

So, the originals used, or new replacement by Klipsch.

Just verify 4 Ohm instead of 8.
