tony61
HEY EVERY ONE, I NEED, VERY BADLY, TO KNOW THE IMPEDENCE OF A K-9-K AND A K-8-K WOOFER.I KNOW THE K-8-K CAME OUT OF A KG-4, BUT WHAT DOES THE K-9-K GO IN? THANKS A BUNCH SORRY, I HIT THE SUBMIT BUTTON TWICE.
Al Klappenberger
Tony, According to an old Klipsch parts price list the K-9-K was equivalent to the K-2-K and used the the KG2 speaker. Al K.
Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted March 8, 2003 Klipsch Employees Share Posted March 8, 2003 k-8-k = 8 Ohms k-9-k = 4 Ohms Both nominal values

Maybe you meant the K-9-K woofer is 8 ohm? If you wondering where I got the specs, it was from you (in an email dated 11-23-99).
STL
Al K. is correct. The K-8-K replaced the original K-3-K woofer in the KG 4, while the K-9-K replaced the original K-2-K woofer in the KG 2. Tony you need to correct that auction since the K-9-K is not from a KG4.
fini
As I recall, the K-9-K was sold as a replacement for the K-8-K, no? I miss the old online parts list... fini

STL
Now that I look at the rest of the K-8-K specs that Trey gave me, I am wondering if the nominal Z value is a typo. Here are the specs he gave me: Nomz= 4.00 Ohms Qms= 5.900 Fo= 27.99 Hz Cms= 1268.0000uM/N Revc= 7.00 Ohms Qes= 0.405 Fi=27.01 Hz Mms= 25.5000Grams Levc= 1.00mH Qts= 0.379 BL=8.80 TM Pmx= 100.0000Watts Splo= 88.62 db no= 0.40 % Sb= 0.0220sqM = 34.1000sqIn SPLi= 88.00db ni= 0.74 % Vas= 0.0870cuM =3.0724cuFT SPLi=88.58db @ Vg= 2.00V Xmax= 4.0000mm....= 0.1575 In Fo =Fs To me it seems rather odd that the Revc would be 7.00 ohms and the Nomz would be 4.00 ohms. It also makes more sense that the KG4 would be using two 8 ohm woofers in parallel (to yield a 4 ohm load) and the KG2 would use a single 4 ohm woofer. fini
STL, What does the parts list show as the replacement woofer for the KG-4 (the one that replaces the discontinued K-8-K)? Is there any way you could post that list, or otherwise share it? Thanks! fini
