jeffgeorge
Does anyone have an opinion on the sonic differences between these two bookshelf speaks? I will be using them on either side of my TV in the family room which is sittting in the corner. The room is approx. 14' X 20'. I have to stay small, because the Wife does not like large speakers in the family room. I save those for my basement retreat. Thanks in advance. Bill H.
Jeff, Looking at your equipment list, your already set. I don't think after experiencing the Reference series, that you would want to go back to the synergy series... Stay with what already works....IMO.... good luck. prodj101
maybe he's setting up an addition stereo? but anyway. the SB-3's will have a fair amount more bass. but I think they use the same horn so mid range and highs will be similar.
Deang
The two speakers DO NOT use the same horn. Also, according to the signature block, looks like he is already running a second system with RB-5's. At any rate, the RB-3's employ the newest driver technology. You should always go to the next level if you can afford it.
prodj101
ooooooohhhhhhhhhh, silly me. I thought he meant SB-2's vs. SB-3's.
mattbugz
More lower freqs with the SB3 but better clarity with the RB3. If price is a consideration, you could wait a little while and get the RB15.
