  1. Got it. Thanks. I might as well pick up the original iGroove instead of paying a premium for the black gloss HG.
  2. All, Is there a difference between the iGroove and the iGroove HG that Apple sells?
  3. Thanks. You have a pretty wide selection of hi-rez albums. I have a total of 5 now.
  4. I picked up a copy of Dark Side of the Moon and also Metallica's The Black Album (DVD-A). Can't wait to get home to listen to them. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at my weekday diversion...AKA work. Since DSOTM is a hybrid, I listened to several tracks on my CD player. I would definitely agree with the statement that this album was made for multichannel.
  5. I have the sample single of Money. I'll definitely purchase that one and check out the others on your list. Thanks!

I realize there are many on this forum who really can not get into Multichannel music and thats cool too. Some other fantastic recordings are: DVD-A Linkin Park- Reanimator Porcupine Tree- In Absentia Fleetood Mac- Rumors Queen- A Night at the Opera Eric Clapton & BB King- Riding with the King Metalica- Black album (title unknown) Beach Boys- Pet Sounds Santanna - both available are good. SACD Pink Floyd-Dark Side of the Moon Allison Kraus- Live with Union Station Nickle Creek- This side as well as the other title that I can't think of Elton John- All of the hybrids are great Eric Clapton- Slow Hand, Ocean Blvd & Layla are great Bon Jovi- This left feels right God Smack- Other Side Diana Krall- Any title is good Telarc samplers 1 & 3 that I know of are great I have some classical thats great also. These are just a few. ---------------- Ahh...foxman, I just found your recommendations. I'll check your list for SACD.

Best Buy only has a sparce collection in my area, but CC has done away with the format. As far as not finding any good multichannel disk's in SACD, then I would suggest listing music preferances because there are a ton available with very good Multichannel mixes. Norah Jones disk isnt a good example of Multichannel for sure. ---------------- I listen to just about anything. I'm just looking for a good example of SACD that will make me appreciate the format in multichannel. On a side note, I think the sun is setting for SACD (perhaps even DSD). Sony has already abandoned new releases and you've already mentioned a retailer giving up on the format as well (in addition to DVD-A, but I think the latter still has a bit of hope).
  8. Yes, you've found that B&M stores have a very poor selection of high res audio. I found a local Fry's had the best selection, but still inadequate. Check out: AcousticSounds.com for a wider selection of SACD/DVD-A I've yet to find a good SACD that delivers excellent multichannel. I purchased Norah Jones and that was an absolute waste since the multichannel conversion was beyond poor.
  9. All these Chinese import movies have the same commonality: Tragic love story....oh and Ziyi Zhang!! Similar fighting effects, sword play, era and someone always dies at the end. I enjoyed all three movies (CT, Hero, HofFD)but CT is still my favorite.
  10. I concur. The RF5's are awesome! Sure there are better floor standing models if you're willing to spend more, but they're hard to beat for the $$. I went from Synergy's to RB3's and finally settled on the RF5's for my front speakers and never looked back.
  11. Paintball is definitely something everyone should try at least once. If anything, you'll at least get a kick out of shooting other people without any harsh consequences. I think Spyders, for the money, are awesome entry level guns and if that's the price range you're looking at, they're pretty tough to beat. Tippman is another good manufacturer in that price range. I think the problem with paintball at a sport is that it doesn't appeal to everyone, mainly because of the idea of getting shot with an object hitting you at 300 feet per second...also, the sport is currently too darn expensive! If the cost is $200 for just an entry level gun, then you can imagine where it goes from there, not to mention paintballs cost >$40 per case. Ouch!
  12. Sounds kewl and all, but I think I'll wait until Lucas finally decides to release the entire series in an "authorized" format. I just hope I'm not waiting until the next digital video format comes out like...HDVD 1640p or something.
  13. 2 for 1!! Wow! I'll be sure to stay away from Good Guys this weekend, or else I'll end up having a new system! I purchased my Reference set from them a few months ago. They're an awesome retailer IMO...friendly, knowledgeable and best of all...flexible with pricing!!
  14. Make sure the store you're buying from works from commision. If possible, see if you can talk to the manager directly. Ask them if they do price matching. Someone also suggested to give them the impression that you're not extremely interested in buying...kinda like a poker face, if you will. And finally, find a store that doesn't generate a lot of sales because these are the ones that will be more willing to sacrifice on the price for the sake of a sale. For example, I live in southern California. I tried purchasing from a Good Guys in Huntington Beach, but had no luck in negotiating a fair price. This particular store has a high supply/demand. I went to another Good Guys in a smaller area (Chino) and they were more willing to negotiate on the price. I ended up purchasing RF5's that were even lower than the Tweeter blowout prices. Hope that helps!
  15. I'm using RB3's as surrounds...I think your RB5's would prolly sound better!!
  16. i felt is was definitely an improvement over the first. i can't wait to hear it on my HT!
  17. you should e-bay it and get the best price possible!
  18. great price! i have the RF5 pair and they are slightly bright when it comes to some music. but i think the kick a$$ for movies!!
  19. You can also purchase them at your local radio shack for approximately the same amount.
  20. they look a little worn to me. if you're saying he got a deal, then what would you say is a fair price for the seller?
  21. how are you accessing the site? are you going through klipsch.com and clicking on the forums link? if so, that is most likely your problem. if you notice, the address bar doesn't change when you peruse the site using the main main page. therefore, when you perform a refresh, you are taken back to www.klipsch.com. i suggest creating a link: http://forums.klipsch.com/idealbb
  22. i'm in southern california, but i find myself rooting for the wolves. and besides, the lakers already have three rings. maybe i am biased becaused i had kevin garnett and wally on my fantasy basketball team.
  23. I don't think it behooves your friend to make judgements based on specs at this point. The best thing to do is probably just wait until a comparison can be done between the two models. Also, I would imagine pricing for the RF3II will adjust once its replacement finally arrives. just my $.02
  24. Hi Scott, So are you more concerned about breach of security or your son viewing less than desirable sites? (well...very desirable from his perspective) As far as restricting him, there are many things you can do on your computer to prevent him from accessing those types of sites ie. content filtering. However, at this day and age, kids have access to the Internet almost everywhere they turn. In other words, if he can't access them at home, he'll find alternative ways to do so. As far as computer security, a lot of those ads are not just harmless popups. As you stated, some can install spyware, change home pages, install cookies and perhaps exploit the latest vulnerability in one of your programs. And of course, there are numerous ways to counteract these by installing some of the programs you suggested, but also by increasing security on your computer. If you have XP, you can make sure no one has administrative privileges and perhaps disable javascript to name a couple.

I dont like Klipsch going to Best Buy, but I have purchased a pair of RF-5s and a RSW-12 out of it so im happy. I am very very happy with my RSW-12, so powerful fast and clean. ---------------- Thanx...that's a great price. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to wait a while longer for my sub upgrade. I wonder if there are any plans to release new subs from Klipsch in the near future??
