formica
Ok, I have this box of old TV (I think) tubes hanging around... Anything worth keeping? What should I be looking for? I didn't list them all down, but here are a couple of pictures... Image 1 Image 2 Spring cleaning I guess... Rob
mike stehr
You got a few good ones in there. The 6CA7/El-34's are worth keeping. Have you tested them?
NOSValves
I also seen the EL34/6CA7's there are also some 12AX7 and 12AU7's in there. Looks like some rectifier tubes also. But with out testing them who know if there good or bad. Craig
formica
Thanks guys... Unfortunately I know very little about tubes and the gear... how do you test them? I'm sure it isn't just a question of resistance....? sorry if this sounds dumb but hang in with me... Rob
T2K
Sell them on EBay as NOS. Hell, everyone leaves positive feedback there! Keith
Dflip
Send them to Craig to check. Let him keep a few for services rendered and then sell the rest on ebay, or to members of this forum. Just a suggestion.
Kudret
Rob, I have a small tube tester that I can lend you if you want. Let me know if you are interested.
formica
Thanks guys for all your replies... you may be right about not all the tubes matching the boxes although "some" do appear NOS... but some definitely aren't. Craig YGM... I've come to the right place... definitely you are all quite knowledgable on your tubes PS: I know i will eventually kick myself when i go for tube gear (definitely in the LT plans), but i hate leaving all these hanging around.
