greg928gts
I have a pair of 511b horns with drivers for sale. They are in great shape, a little scuffed up, but nothing a coat of paint won't cure. I need to get $250 for the pair. I would consider selling just the horns without the drivers, but I need to know if the drivers would be an exact replacement for the ones in my La Scalas. The drivers on these look just like the K-55V's, smooth rounded backs, gray color, but obviously don't have the Klipsch name on them. Can anyone tell me if these are the same driver as the K-55V? Is there more than one manufacturer that makes these exact same looking drivers as the Klipsch? I'd like to use them in my La Scalas. JohnA
A few good pictures can help identify the drivers. Otherwise, ....

TBrennan
Jesus Greg, who welded those adaptors? That's one of the worst welding jobs I've ever seen. A Local 597 Pipefitter?
djk
And the answer to the driver question is: That is an Atlas SD58, a great siren driver. S^cks wind for hi-fi though. Sorry.
greg928gts
Pretty nice huh?! These horns and drivers came out of a pair of Acoustic PA horns. The cabinets had a crossover and no less than 6 piezo tweeters in each! I got them with a whole bunch of stuff pretty cheap, knowing that I could sell the horns. Didn't know anything about the drivers though. As far as I know, the adapter bracket is exactly how Acoustic made them. The construction of the mid drivers looks just like a K55V. Is it just that it has a different diaphram? Would a replacement diaphram for a K55V work in these? Is a K55V from an old pair of Heresy's the same as was used in the Khorns? Thanks for the info, Greg
